Audi is one of the longest standing car company’s around. They have been around for a little less than 100 years and still carry out their beliefs just as they did in 1910. Not a lot has changed since the early days other than the types of cars that they put forth. The history of Audi is one with many twists and turns as well as many great vehicles. There have been many downfalls and rises by this company and hopefully they will stay how they are today, great and magnificent. There are also many other questions that are brought up about Audi like where will they be in 10 years or what other things does Audi offer other than just vehicles?
History
Audi was first a thought in 1909 when August Horch was first fired from one of his own company’s. A few years passed and the company was beginning to grown and become bigger so why not decide to merge? In 1932 Audi not only merged with one company, but three, Horch, DKW, and Wanderer. This is also how the Audi symbol came about the four rings represent the four companies that merged. The company that they made was called The Auto Union. After a few rough years during the depression the Auto Union eventually resurfaced to bring forth a new idea in car design, the front wheel drive system that had never been seen before in luxury vehicles, but only in SUV’s and other big cars.
After about 30 years Audi had grown quite a bit and wanted to expand itself to the United States which inspired a few new design methods and also a few hardware tweaks. The V8 engine that had been built a few years early was now being put into the Audi cars along with the Quattro to make it one of the smoothest handling vehicles around. The Quattro was an all wheel drive system that made driving in snow or the weather a little bit easier than before. These systems are not all that made people buy Audi some people just like the slim VW look and were more gravitated by the looks than that of the performance. This is one of the reasons that they have stuck around so long because people like the performance as well as the looks and go out and have fun in these cars.
In 2004 along with some other companies Audi added CARFAX and this allowed many of their customers to make sure that Audi’s pre-owned and used cars didn’t have problems that were unknown to the naked eye. In June of 2006 Audi made history to win the infamous 24 hours race with a diesel car. Not much else has happened since those days. The history of Audi is not only scattered in the United States and Germany but Canada and many other countries as well. They have a few profound dates in Canada like the first time they sold which was in 1971. The history of Audi is great and rich and diverse with a lot of things that would never be expected of car companies. Hopefully they will still be great in 10 years and do just as well.
Future
The future of Audi looks as if it will be very bright and prosperous. They are coming out with a couple sets of new cars and are going to make these new ones look even better than before. They are remaking their Q7 models so that they can resell them and make people happy with the new models. They have also put forth a pricing model for the new brands of cars so that if price is a factor you can eliminate some choices. They have also made many new concepts to check out in the future as well as future models. Some of these models include things like hatchbacks and crosses between some types of cars. I cannot wait to see some of the things that Audi is going to make or at least wait until they share some of their new ideas. Audi isn’t just a car for today it is going to be a car for the future too.
