After working on bicycles two brothers decided they would no longer work on pedals but engines and tires. Horace and John Dodge started this company out of nothing in 1914 and it would become the truck company that we know and love today. Dodge has had quite a long history so that means that they will inevitably have great service. I have found that companies that have been around longer treat people a lot better. Their cars and trucks are also pretty amazing too. With all of these separate features and aspects Dodge has a huge customer base and it is because they really are one of the best car companies around. Without Dodge we wouldn’t live in the same world that we do today. We might have even lost World War 1 without them.
History
Dodge was formed by Horace and John Dodge in 1914. They had been bicycle manufactures and decided to make the change to auto motive vehicles and it was a very good choice. Soon after in 1928 Dodge was bought by Chrysler. From there the Dodge Company slowly evolved into the high performance company that we all know today. Dodge was very active in both World Wars; they introduced many cars that would power over dirt, mines, and many other obstacles to rescue our soldiers. With the help from this company the U.S was able to win the wars and live in peace.
Dodge also introduced many vehicles for the common people to use. They introduced the dart and many trucks and one of the biggest innovations was to come from Chevrolet. Chevrolet introduced the Hemi and it changed how all trucks were put together. With the Hemi trucks could now have much more horse power than before. Many other vehicles have been introduced throughout the years and without this company there would be something missing in this world. Since Dodge was owned by Chrysler they were also sold to a private group in 2007 and face some obstacles. They must find a way to fix their gas consumption problem if they are going to overcome their obstacles though.
